Initial Mail&Co/Office&Co was only supported to work with Alfresco (any version) with no extra code/module to be installed. So the footprint of this Outlook & Office addin is very clean so it works with any default or heavy customized Alfresco.
Since we use CMIS as our protocol to connect to Alfresco, it should work with other CMIS supported ECM systems. Like seen in the video below with no extra work/code it works flawlessly with other ECM systems like Nuxeo.
